Just saw this installation by Mark Jenkins and it gave me a shiver. While some of his stuff is more playful and/or disturbing, this one from his Street Installations definitely makes you think. I wonder how many people walked by this DC corner without ever knowing that there wasn’t even a face in the clothes?
Regardless of one’s political, social, cultural leanings and perspectives about the causes or results of poverty and homelessness, giving someone the dignity of at least being seen is important. Sadly too often we just walk by . . .
