(h/t: Matthew Ingram over at Social Media Today)
Oh be still my heart, could it be true? Is google going to come out with an uber-social network that will pull from the bazillions ones that I am already a part of. Getting vapors just thinking about it.
Apparently Google helped to fund a project that would help to redefine social networking as we know it. While google already has Orkut, they have never really been able to dominate the social newtwork area like their other products have. What has come out of the Carnegie Mellon project is SocialStream, a place where the goal is to:
Create a system for users to seamlessly share, view, and respond to many types of social content across multiple networks.
Oh yeah! There doesn’t seem to be launch date or even a commitment to do it, but if it does come out, count me in!
