A few months back I announced on my personal blog my intentions to seek the endorsement of San Francisco Presbytery to stand for Moderator of the 218th General Assembly. Well go figure. It has happened. About three hours ago San Francisco Presbytery gave their endorsement for me to Stand for Moderator of the 218th General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church (USA).
Now the fun begins. Not only are we launching this blog, but there is a Facebook Group and Fan Page and I will begin traveling around the country to talk with folks about the church. I am so thankful for those who have given counsel over the past few months and have helped to put some things into place without really knowing if the presbytery would endorse me.
There will be plenty of ways to get involved in this adventure if you so choose, so please be sure to subscribe to this blog [See Blog Basics] to keep up with the journey.
We had hoped to get a recording of Greg Roth’s endorsement motion and my statement, but because of the nature of this particular meeting, we felt it was best not to do so. I will in the next few days post a rereading of my statement.
The adventure begins my friends, the adventure begins.
That’s me at the podium.
