Toto, we're not . . . hey wait, we are in Kansas

Well, actually I am in Missouri, but I couldn't resist the easy cultural reference.  Thanks to friend and colleague in ministry, Jeff Light, who directs the Heartland Presbyterian Center, I am spending some time hanging out with folks and talking about church stuff.  But I digress . . .

Here is what I have discovered this far . . .

Snow and Ice are pretty from inside a warm and toasty retreat center room.  This is a picture from my room.

Airport travel can bring out the best and worst of people.  Enough said.

Packed red-eye flights suck.

Getting upgraded to first class rocks.

Boys, just because we can, please stop answering the phone while at the stall.  Seriously.  If it would not have been inappropriate - and difficult to do -  I would have taken a picture of this dude that answered his phone while, well you know.  Nice.

I miss my girls.

Did I mention it was cold?  It is.

Seriously, I think you just went to Kansas City so you could make the Wizard of Oz joke. That's how you roll.

Ok - girls answer the phone in the stalls and that's gross enough, but boys do that too? Yet another example of how boys are dumb.

Not this boy...

For Thought

  • Quote "Peace"
“Peace it does not mean to be in a place where there is no noise, trouble or hard work. It means to be in the midst of those things and still be calm in your heart.”
  • Benediction
Thank to all who have asked for this. This is a compilation of many different benedictions that I have heard throughout the years, no originality claimed, just some great opportunities to share it.

    Go forth into the world
With compassion and justice in your heart
    Give voice to the silent
    Give strength to the weak
    See one another
    Hear one another
    Care for one another
    And love one another
    It's all that easy
    And it's all that hard

Now may the grace of our Lord, Jesus Christ
    The love of God
And the power of the Holy Spirit
Be with us all, now and forever more
    AMEN
