Drums please, it's Summertime

I am having one of the those mornings after night of very little sleep.  Lots of stuff swirling around my head these days.  Hopefully there will be some posts later in the day, but until then, the biggest thing is that is going on is that today is the last day of school for Middle and Eldest.  Yep, with the year ending at our school, today we officially have a 2008-2009 kids in K, 2nd and 6th grade.  ONE SCHOOL next year!  Woohoo!

In any case, while I will NOT stoop to the levels of Monteskewed and his Summer Post, I kick off the summer with my all-time fav summer song.  Seem particularly apropos as SF experiences record-breaking heat this week.

The glory of having all children in one school is not to be underestimated. One pick up and drop off location, one vacation schedule, one set of fundraising opportunities, one set of PTA-type volunteer opportunities. Oh frabjous day!

For Thought

  • Quote "Peace"
“Peace it does not mean to be in a place where there is no noise, trouble or hard work. It means to be in the midst of those things and still be calm in your heart.”
  • Benediction
Thank to all who have asked for this. This is a compilation of many different benedictions that I have heard throughout the years, no originality claimed, just some great opportunities to share it.

    Go forth into the world
With compassion and justice in your heart
    Give voice to the silent
    Give strength to the weak
    See one another
    Hear one another
    Care for one another
    And love one another
    It's all that easy
    And it's all that hard

Now may the grace of our Lord, Jesus Christ
    The love of God
And the power of the Holy Spirit
Be with us all, now and forever more
    AMEN
