One of these things is not like the others: SF Gate Bright Lights Blog Launch

Citybrights

You all remember the Sesame Street song . . . everyone!

One of these things is not like the others,

One of these things just doesn’t belong,

Can you tell which thing is not like the others

By the time I finish my song?

Well, I do know that my role as Moderator of the Presbyterian Church (USA) does give me a little more visibility is some circles, but I am under no delusions of grandeur about any notoriety outside of PresbyNerd circles . . . no offense to the PresbyNerds in the hizouse.

Or am I . . . ;-)

Check out who I am rollin’ with now as the designated religion blogger on the just-launched SFGate “City Brights” Blog which is described as follows:

We
live in an area that has more than its share of luminaries. We’re
talking about our public figures, the recognized experts in their
fields (from science to the arts), and the local notables that make the
Bay Area what it is. SFGate has reached out to
a number of these
personalities, and we’re very excited to have so many of them
contributing to our Web site. They add to the diversity of local voices
and opinion on our site and will deepen the connection that we have
with our community.

A partial listing of my new crew . . .

Peter Coyote

Craig Newmark

Michael Yaki

Jo Schuman SilverBruce Reyes-Chow

Yep . . . apparently someone thinks I’m interesting enough to be part of this group of local “luminaries” so what the heck, lets see how it goes. Religion and San Francisco sometimes do not mix but what a platform on which there can be some great conversations about the complexities of religion today.  How could I NOT accept?

The blog just launched today and I published my first post, One of THOSE Christians as a kind of introduction to this yahoo pastor guy.
