Today, for many Asians around the world, is 清明節.  Ching Ming or Chinese Memorial Day is similar to All Saint’s Day or El Día de los Muertos.  This year the family gathered where my grandfather, great-great-aunt and great-great-uncle ashes are interred to remember those who have come before.  My cousin, Trina, has given a great summary of some of meanings behind the traditions.
