When I saw that my first Kickstarter Project achieved it’s funding goal, I swear I heard the angels from the sky above sing out, “Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujuuuuu . . . You’re funded!”
And thank you. Humbled and grateful beyond words I am.
As of the writing of this post – with a full eight days left – 193 backers have pledged $7,596 exceeding our initial goal of $7,500. Again, thank you so much. I can now take the pedal off of the gas, get out of your faces and start setting up my writing schedule for the next month.
But . . . there ARE still eight days to become a backer of the project. “But why would I back a project that was already funded?” you ask? Good question and here are three reasons.
- If you want to stay in the loop . . . I will send out periodic Backer Reports letting folks know how the book is coming along: writing, editing, formatting publishing, etc. I won’t be on Facebook and Twitter as much over the next month’ish, so the best way to keep up is to become a Backer.
- If you want to “pre-order” your book . . . If you think you that you might buy this book when it comes out anyway, why not buy it now for less than its expected price. For $10.00 you can reserve your copy, save a few buck and stay in the loop.
- If there is a reward you want . . . The reward bundles will most likely not be available after the Kickstarter campaign is over. From discounted book bundles to getting Bruce to guest speak, you may want to back it now and reserve a reward.
“What happens with the extra funding?” you ask? Another good question.
After initial expenses, extra funding will be split 50/50. 50% will go towards marketing/PR and 50% will be evenly split between everyone except for myself. Over the last week of the campaign, while I will post and share more infrequently, keep an eye out for two new rewards that we will be offering on Monday, December 3. You might want to adjust your pledge once those rewards are posted. Backers will be the first notified of the new rewards.
That’s it for now. And while these few days have been really interesting, I am thrilled that this stage of the process is over and I can write in earnest. Thank you again for all of the support, encouragement and resources offered.
