BRC and Friends is a 30-minute Google Hangout where I chat with friends and adventurers from around the interwebs. Each episode includes conversations about one of my guests passions, projects or area of expertise, a current events or two and we end with five random questions. This is basically an excuse for me to talk with interesting people about interesting things.

Today on BRC and Friends I spoke with David LaMotte, author of Worldchanging 101: Challenging the Myth of Powerlessness.

Recorded live from my kitchen “studio” on November 3, 2014.

Episode Recap: David LaMotte . . .

Introduction

Segment 1:

David and I talk about world changing and peacemaking. David talks about the questions that are asked, assumptions made and how we deal with being overwhelmed by the tasks of wanting to make the world a better place. He talks about the super-hero narrative that impacts our understanding of how change comes about. We also talk about how we deal with passion, righteous and civility.

We should not confuse peace with placidity.

In this second segment, David talks about his involvement the Nobel Peace Prize selection process as part of the Nobel Peace Prize Nominating Task Group for the AFSC (Quakers). Very cool especially the story about Quaker oats. Nominate [HERE].
