#40WordPrayer on Newness — Bruce Reyes-Chow

#40WordPrayer on NEWNESS

Happy are those whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered.
Happy are those to whom the Lord imputes no iniquity,
and in whose spirit there is no deceit.
— Psalm 32:1–2

Sometimes I need a clean slate,

a fresh start, a new beginning,

new life from a world of death.

God, let me embrace your forgiveness

so that I may know to the depths of my soul

that as I offer my brokenness I am made new.

Amen.

When it comes to my surroundings, you see, I love having a clean slate. Every once in a while, my stuff becomes messy, things break down, and my surroundings distract from my work. I am sure some of you have already diagnosed my affliction, but truth is, occasionally clearing the slate is a good thing.
