#40WordPrayer on Worry — Bruce Reyes-Chow

#40WordPrayer on WORRY

How often have I desired to gather your children together
as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, and you were not willing!
— Matthew 23:37b

There is so much that can go wrong that all I can do is worry

about money, about work,

about family, about friends, about everything.

God, do not let worry consume my soul;

rather, allow me to let go

so that I may find calm and peace.

Amen.

In our worry we can miss out on ways to actually find calm in the midst of wild times, misdirecting our energy away from things that we can change. So we must temper our worry. Easier said than done, but you know what—don’t worry about it.
