If you’re stuck in your worship planning process, here are some prayers for your use.

Optional Pastoral Prayer

Check back here on on Friday or Saturday for a pastoral prayer in response to any of the week’s happenings in the world.

Call to Worship: Exodus

One: God, even when we do not know you, you know and call us each by name —
ALL: There is no other God but you.
One: From the rising of the sun, in lightness and in the dark —
ALL: You are God, and your people gather this day to worship you.

Confession: Matthew

Holy God, we want to understand you with our whole being: heart, mind, and soul. Too often, in our yearning to know you, we test you. We will only follow if there is proof before our eyes, and not because of a faith in our souls. Keep calling us, keep challenging us, and keep forgiving us.  For in our confession we made new. AMEN.

Assurance of Pardon: Matthew

Just as God knows us each by name, in every confession that we offer, we are drawn closer to God and forgiven. People of God, hear the good news that in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ you are forgiven and made new. AMEN.

Prayer of Dedication: Psalm

God let our offering be worthy of the glory due your name. Let all that we offer this day, join with the gifts of others to bring healing and hope to the named and the nameless. You are our God, so let all that we give be done with beauty and strength so your love may be known throughout the world. AMEN.
