In Episode 51, Bruce, along with co-hosts Laura Mariko Cheifetz (she/her) and Micky Scottbey Jones (she/her) speaks with guest David Magdael (he/him). David is a media strategist for documentary films and indies, and talks about his trip to the SXSW festival in Austin, and how the films that he’s worked on recently have been directed by Asian Pacific filmmakers. He discusses [BAD AXE](https://www.badaxefilm.com/?ref=reyes-chow.com), the documentary that won the Audience favourite award at SXSW, and how it chronicles the experience of a Cambodian-American family in rural Michigan.

He also shares advice for Micky’s daughter, currently in film school, about pursuing her calling and talks about his version of ‘80-20’ rule.
