I hope you are well and finding ways to notice and embrace joy these days. Lord knows we can all use it.
I still grieve what is happening in Gaza and the silence and inaction of so many. Each day I struggle with the tension of living our day-to-day life while our friends suffer because of the support of our government and my tax dollars . . . plus what our government is doing in general: inhumane immigration tactics, martial law dry-runs, attacks on higher education, life-threatening health policy making, reinforcing nationalized cruelty, and engaging in ongoing general terribleness.
Yet, we contiue to do what we can, as we can, when we can, and I so appreciate folks' ongoing support. Sporadically, I share some personal and professional updates, so here you go. While there are more detailed updates for Paid Subscribers, here are some highlights:
Personally. My physical health is doing pretty well. I'm still doing my regular Long Covid blood testing, but my weight is down, my fitness is consistent, and I am contemplating running a marathon before I turn 60 (Calm down runners). I am still very much part of the OrangeTheory C̶u̶l̶t̶ Community 😄 as it helps me to regulate many aspects of my daily life. After struggling a bit last year, my mental health is pretty good. Seasonal depression is a sneaky beast, but I am getting better at recognizing the signs, so much better. Family is beautiful and I miss my goofy dog ⬇️⬇️⬇️.
Our "sweet baby girl dog," Vespa, doing her very best cat impression. Weirdo.
Professionally. This full-time freelancer/public person is still a grind and a hustle that is simultaneously exhilarating, liberating, exhausting, and labourious. A couple of projects are coming through, and 2026 and 2027 are taking shape. I just turned in a project on Gun Violence Prayers, and now I begin a three-publication project on Jesus. I'm beginning to travel again, and the 2026 calendar is starting fill up. Vocation is a wily and subtle siren.
There are more detailed updates below for Paid Subscribers, as well as information for a monthly Zoom (I need some help brainstorming some content ideas).
Again, thanks for your support!
